This third individual who joined the other two previously on the bus in Portland, Oregon, immediately struck up a conversation with [REDACTED] and told him that [REDACTED - b6, b7C] at Seattle, Washington. He acted very peculiar as far as [REDACTED] was concerned and overdid his [REDACTED] story. He appeared to [REDACTED] to be very suave, very smooth, and somewhat of a con artist. He settled himself with the other two persons in the seat in front of [REDACTED] and it was clear that all three were well acquainted with each other at that point, with perhaps the exception of the young girl not being too well acquainted with the first individual. [REDACTED] received the impression from the three that they had "picked up" the young girl and that she was accompanying them to Reno, Nevada on short notice.

---

During the period that the bus was leaving Portland, Oregon, the third individual made a crack about "get the parachutes ready" and called his other male companion, [REDACTED] at which point the person referred to as [REDACTED] got rather upset and told him not to use that name. From then on the third individual referred to the first individual as [REDACTED]. The first individual called the third individual [REDACTED].

---

During the trip to Reno, Nevada, from Portland, the third individual, referred to as [REDACTED] showed [REDACTED] [REDACTED] identification which he took from his brief case, identifying him as [REDACTED], last name believed to be [REDACTED] by [REDACTED]. The identification which he showed was a driver's license and also some type of card which [REDACTED] thought to be a [REDACTED] [REDACTED] The third individual, [REDACTED] told [REDACTED] that this was a [REDACTED] [REDACTED] at any time he wished to with no problems attached. At approximately this point, [REDACTED] became aware that the third individual with whom he was

talking, looked very much like the composite photograph which he, [REDACTED] had seen in the Everett Herald resembling the hijacker of the Northwest Orient 727.

[REDACTED] spent approximately 16 hours with the three individuals and had numerous conversations with them enroute to Reno, Nevada. He stated that he was quite sus- picious of the third suspect and that at one point his suspicions evidentially showed because the third suspect became concerned about [REDACTED] and had a conversation with the first suspect, in which [REDACTED] knew he was being dis- cussed.

The first suspect, [REDACTED], also known as [REDACTED], talked about his home town, Chicago, and also about the State of Wisconsin. They also had conversation about a [REDACTED], [REDACTED], which they had abandoned in Seattle when they decided to leave there suddenly.

At another point the first suspect warned the third suspect that they would have to go through a food and produce checking station at the California-Nevada border. The above three suspects then had some conversation over this, which was not heard by [REDACTED].

When the bus arrived at Reno, Nevada, the third suspect using the name of [REDACTED] asked [REDACTED] to accom- pany the three of them to a restaurant for dinner and also a little gambling. They went to a restaurant and alley, which had carpet on the alley floor, and there had some dinner at a small restaurant. The individual referred to as [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] then went to Harrods Club where [REDACTED] did some gambling. He played black jack and "21" and [REDACTED] stated that he lost approximately [REDACTED] all of which was in [REDACTED]. He appeared at this time to [REDACTED] to be somewhat of a compulsive gambler, as he became very agitated while in the process of gambling. At this point [REDACTED] slipped away from the third suspect referred to as [REDACTED].

Before leaving Reno, [REDACTED] related all of the above [REDACTED] and also the [REDACTED] On one other occasion, [REDACTED] ran into the above third suspect and second suspect leaving the

Calneva Club. At that time the third suspect, [REDACTED] recognized [REDACTED] and mentioned that the person accompanying him must [REDACTED], Washington. [REDACTED] replied that this was; they then broke off their conversa- tion and went their separate ways. [REDACTED] at that point felt that the individual referred to as [REDACTED] looked very much like the composite of D. B. COOPER, which he had observed in newspapers after the hijacking.

---

[REDACTED] stated that he feels very sure that the person with whom he traveled from Portland, Oregon, to Reno, Nevada, is the hijacker of the Northwest Orient plane and that he would recognize all three persons described above if he were to observe them on another occasion.

---

[REDACTED] was able to provide his ticket stub for the Greyhound bus trip from Everett, Washington, to Reno, Nevada, showing his departure time and routing.
