TO : SAC, SEATTLE (164-81) (P) DATE: 2/28/72

FROM : SA [REDACTED]

SUBJECT: NORJAK OO: SEATTLE

---

Re SC airtel to SE, 12/15/71, SUB D, ROBERT COOPER.

On 2/3/72, [REDACTED] provided information that [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Washington, was rented by one [REDACTED] [REDACTED], Washington. This [REDACTED] had last been paid for on 1/12/72; and since the rent had lapsed, it was assumed that [REDACTED] no longer was living at [REDACTED].

---

On 2/3/72, [REDACTED] Washington, provided in- formation that [REDACTED] was no longer living in [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] He was able to provide no forward- ing address for [REDACTED] but stated that [REDACTED] was a dedicated skydiver and that he could be contacted through the Seattle Skydiving Club located at the Snohomish Airport.

---

On 2/18/72, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Washington, was contacted at the Seattle Skydiving Club, Snohomish City Airport, Snohomish, Washington. He pro- vided the following information.

On 11/24/71, he was in Snohomish, drinking at various taverns with [REDACTED] He did not leave Snohomish during that period of time.

---

[REDACTED] is a member of the Seattle Skydivers Club and has made [REDACTED] jumps. He states that the type chute used by the skyjacker is not a steerable chute and would not be selected by an experienced chutist; but if that were the only type chute provided for the skyjacker and he was an experienced chutist, he would experience no problems in making a dive from a 727 aircraft at 10,000 feet going less than 200 knots. [REDACTED] states that should the FBI wish it, he would be more than happy to exactly duplicate the conditions of the [guess: sub. del?] jump made by the skyjacker using the same equipment and jump- ing from the exact same airplane under the exact same conditions.

He is confident that such a dive can be made successfully, and he would volunteer to aid the Bureau in pinpointing the area in which the skyjacker would have been likely to land.

[REDACTED] is approximately 5' 10" in height, approximately 160 pounds, has black hair, and a black beard. He does not resemble the composite drawing of the skyjacker and is [REDACTED]
