BLOOMER originally suggested as a suspect by an individual identifying himself as [REDACTED] telephoned the Spokane RA on January 4, 1972, and confided that a woman friend he has known for five years suspects [REDACTED] of being identical with unsub.

[REDACTED] admitted that an unidentified woman friend primarily suspected [REDACTED] of being a good suspect because of the similarities of the names - D.B. COOPER vs. C. D. BLOOMER, and because BLOOMER was previously a Marine Paratrooper and an armed demolitions expert.

On August 22, 1972, CHARLES DE WITT BLOOMER's Selective Service file was reviewed by SA [REDACTED] and the following descriptive information concerning BLOOMER was obtained:

In view of the fact that the primary reason for considering BLOOMER a suspect is the similarity between his name, C. D. BLOOMER, and that of D. B. COOPER, a name which has no bearing in this matter, and in view of the fact that BLOOMER is 5' 7", ruddy complexion, gray hair, blue eyes, and has a chronic cough, BLOOMER is no longer being considered a suspect.
