RE: CHARLES DeWITT BLOOMER, Suspect
---
On this date a man who identified himself as [REDACTED], who is well known as a lecturer before service clubs", phoned the Spokane R/A and said he has a woman friend whom he has known for about five years who asked him to report to the FBI that her [REDACTED] CHARLES DeWITT BLOOMER could be considered a prime suspect for the instant skyjacking. [REDACTED] said he met BLOOMER about three years ago when he went with BLOOMER and the woman to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho at which time BLOOMER and the woman were married. 5/25/66
[REDACTED] said the woman does not want her name mentioned because she [REDACTED] She formerly worked as [REDACTED] in Seattle, and BLOOMER after [REDACTED]
---
[REDACTED] said BLOOMER is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant and drawing a pension of $225.00 per month; he is about 42 years old and 5'10", stocky build, dark blonde hair which was last known to be crewcut.
[REDACTED] admitted that his unidentified woman friend primarily suspected her [REDACTED] of being a good suspect because of the similarity of the names: D. B. COOPER vs C. D. BLOOMER, and because BLOOMER was previously a Marine paratrooper and an Army demolitions expert.
---
[REDACTED] said the woman friend now lives out of Spokane, and she left [REDACTED] his home about two days ago with [REDACTED] enroute to California; before she left his place she asked [REDACTED] he said, to contact the FBI and furnish the above information, and to also report that she suspects that BLOOMER has since gone to Mexico, but she had no reason for suspecting that.
---
A review of the Spokane Telephone, City, and Suburban Directories failed to reveal any [REDACTED]. SEATTLE: Will attempt to identify CHARLES DE WITT BLOOMER, who formerly resided in Seattle, and if identified will determine if he could be considered a suspect in this case. 1 - Seattle WLP
