SA CHARLES E. FARRELL

NORJAK OO: SEATTLE

RE: [REDACTED]

---

On 1/9/74, Supervisor [REDACTED] Los Angeles Office, telephonically contacted the Seattle Division to furnish additional information concerning captioned suspect. [REDACTED] [REDACTED] was joined in the conversation through a speaker phone at Los Angeles, and by SA ROBERT STRANGER who has been handling the investigation concerning [REDACTED] said they sent to Seattle a 26-page airtel which was mailed 1/8/74, which contains a complete summary of their investigation concerning [REDACTED]

---

Of paramount interest to [REDACTED] is a possibility that a person named [REDACTED] at Salem, Oregon, who is an acquaintance of [REDACTED] could possibly be a participant with [REDACTED] if there is anything to the idea that [REDACTED] might be involved in NORJAK. He suggested that Seattle as Office of Origin, after studying the 26-page airtel, might wish to inform Portland not to make any further direct contact with [REDACTED] at this time.

---

In summary, [REDACTED] advised as follows:

[REDACTED] was offered as a suspect in February, 1972, as a look alike for D. B. COOPER. Los Angeles investigation showed that [REDACTED] was [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Although, according to [REDACTED] no word has been received from him since that time, [REDACTED] advised that [REDACTED] and they know of his location at this time in the Los Angeles area.

---

Los Angeles investigation shows [REDACTED] has had operator's license in several different names, and in tracking his activities through oil credit cards, they find that he was in the Portland, Oregon, area on or about 11/23/71, with no activity shown [guess: for] 11/24/71, but another charge again in Portland, 11/25/71. Additional [guess: credit] purchases were made in Vancouver, Washington, a few days later.
