A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

RE: SUSPECT RAY MATHIS
On 2/23/72, [REDACTED] California, tele- phone [REDACTED] (Conceal per Request), advised RAY MATHIS should be considered a possible suspect in this matter. MATHIS was a pilot for WAL for one and a half years until "fired" about two or three years ago, for his check writing activities.
MATHIS is described as white male, age 34-35, 5'10", 165-170 pounds, slight receding hair, sandy or light brown in color.
MATHIS described as having ears which were recalled as being larger than those depicted in the artist sketch of the hijacker.
MATHIS was last known to reside in the San Francisco area, and WAL, San Francisco would have back- ground concerning him.

MATHIS allegedly passed a bad $50 check at San Mateo, California bout six months ago. He was not known [REDACTED] to have military or parachuting experience.
[REDACTED] San Francisco would have personal knowledge of MATHIS, as he probably
[REDACTED] was named as [REDACTED] MATHIS, and is believed by [REDACTED] to be [REDACTED] in the Sacramento area.
