He was introduced to him by a man whom he first knew as [REDACTED] and whom he later learned was [REDACTED]. He identified the photo of [REDACTED] as [REDACTED]. He interviewed D.B. COOPER on the 15th, and again on the 20th, 22 and 23 of February. Through these interviews he obtained most of the material [REDACTED]

FLEMING has formed a publishing company with one MAX PALEVSKY, known as Platypus Publishing Inc., [REDACTED] came from MAX. MAX recently had a severe heart attack and FLEMING requested he not be contacted.

The photo of the individual in the tasselled cap 1 x v and the other photo of the individual on the street were # 3 identified by FLEMING as the same person and the man known as D.B. COOPER.

---

FLEMING also [REDACTED] on the night he took b6 [REDACTED] to dinner at the Windjammer which was 2/20/72. b7C He said he thought [REDACTED] had an IQ of about 10.

---

With regard to the money, he said that [REDACTED] first gave him 3 serial numbers. He asked to see the money. Then [REDACTED] showed him 3 Xerox or photostatic copies and eventually he stated, that [REDACTED] did show him three 20 dollar bills, however at this time he did not have his list with him, did not have the photostatic copies and did not make a record of the serial numbers [REDACTED] gave him, so he cannot be sure the three bills [REDACTED] showed him are part of the ransom money.

With regard to the occasion when [REDACTED] FLEMING said he and COOPER went to the scene together and [REDACTED] FLEMING said he never had any indication of COOPER's real identity other than D.B. COOPER. He got the impression that COOPER and [REDACTED] lived somewhere close together. [REDACTED] first learned of COOPER by contacting the Boeing Company re in-estments and real estate and COOPER came to him wanting to know how much he would need to invest to have a return of $10,000 to $15,000 a year. [REDACTED] told him it would take about $200,000 to $250,000.

FLEMING said he would contact his attorney and would advise New York in the morning as to whether he would make available the receipt, the recording and the film which was taken at the beach.

FEHL said that when FLEMING saw COOPER he had hair which he believed to be some kind of wig. He has the impression, but is not sure, that he is quite bald when he does not have a hair piece on.

FEHL said FLEMING advised Newsweek will not publish his story and that every other editor he showed it to refused to have anything to do with it unless COOPER was actually apprehended and prosecuted.
