[REDACTED], was interviewed by SA [REDACTED] at his residence at Seabeck, Washington. He advised he is acquainted with KARL FLEMING of Newsweek magazine, having contacted him after seeing an ad in the local Seattle area newspapers requesting information from D.B. COOPER. [REDACTED] stated that after observing the ad, he ran an ad of his own in the local Bremerton newspaper in an effort to obtain business for his realestate interests. He stated the ad he ran read, "D.B. COOPER have 2½ acre tract. Will defer downpayment." Based on this ad, he received a number of telephone calls, most of which he felt were from pranksters. He stated however, he did receive one telephone call one night at approximately 1:00 AM, and felt that because of the time of the call, and the fact that he could hear no background noise to indicate the call came from a tavern, he felt that this call had some validity.
He stated he recognized the voice of the caller as an individual known to him and instructed the caller to phone him back the next day, however, he did not receive a return call. Concerning the identity of this individual, [REDACTED] stated he does not desire to disclose his identity
