A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

SUBJECT: UNSUB; Northwest Airlines Flight #305, Portland to Seattle, 11-24-71 CAA - HIJACKING; EXTORTION OO: Seattle

Enclosed for the Laboratory are two rolls of microfilm containing serial numbers of bills to be compared to microfilm already on hand in order to determine exact serial numbers of bills given to hijacker.

Microfilm already submitted represents $230,000.00 of which $200,000.00 given to hijacker. New film currently being submitted contains serial numbers of six lots of bills, each containing $50,000.00 totaling $300,000.00. Film 1 contains lots 1 through 5; film 2 contains only lot 6. The $30,000.00 of the original microfilm which was not given to the hijacker is contained either at the end of lot 5 or at the end of lot 6.

The $20 bills in question in lot 5 begin with the serial number L34346374A and end with serial number E50344506A. The $20 bills in question in lot 6 begin with the serial number L18031099B and end with the serial number L09729057B on the microfilm.

By extracting the serial numbers of the $20 bills within these two lots and comparing them to the serial numbers of the original $230,000.00, the numbers of the remaining bills which are in the hands of the hijacker will be determined.

The bank supplying the film requests that copies be made and the original returned to them, or that just the segments containing the pertinent sections be cut off and the rest returned.
