SAC, SEATTLE (164-81) 4/24/72

SA CHARLES E. FARRELL

NORJAK

RE: UNSUB; [redacted] - SOURCE

---

On 4/24/72, SA [redacted] Airport RA at New York City, advised that he has received the teletype Seattle sent 4/23/72 and had some additional questions. He wanted to know if Seattle was in possession of the picture of three $20 bills which had been provided to the New York Office by Newsweek magazine. He was advised we do have it.

---

[redacted] advised that they have not yet received bureau authority to interview KARL FLEMING and in discussion about such an interview, he advised that he has no knowledge of the existence of a story or manuscript reportedly outlining the hijacking and the hijacker's background. He did have both copies of the picture and pointed out that the one of the man taken in the street was received by the New York Office, but not the one in the knit hat until they were sent to New York by Seattle by courier on 4/23/72.

---

[redacted] was brought up to date with developments at Seattle and advised he would immediately inform Seattle if and when Bureau authority is obtained to interview FLEMING.
