there they would practice using the weapons they had purchased. Some of the weapons, including a shotgun, were purchased in [redacted] Virginia.

The idea evolved that they would obtain a large sum of money and then go to Alaska through Canada, where they "would start a new life." CHARLES TULLER said that BRYCE should go into the Army and learn how to use explosives and [redacted] should go into the service and learn "hand-to-hand combat," the use of weapons and "become a man." They had discussions about how they would obtain the money and one of the ways discussed was to rob a bank. No specific bank was mentioned while [redacted] but they did talk about how they would rob a bank. A bank near government offices or a large complex would be the target and the telephone cables would be cut with equipment obtained from the telephone company yard in Alexandria, Virginia, where BRYCE was working. They would then enter the bank, posing as tele- phone repairmen. It was about this time that [redacted]

He saw the [redacted] as they drove past his house. He got the feeling that they were checking up on him. He last saw them in August, 1972, when CHARLES [redacted] in front of his house in their [redacted] and asked him to come with them. They went to a woman's house in [redacted] Alexandria, Virginia; [redacted] CHARLES, and they met [redacted] there. He had known [redacted]. [redacted] This woman only lived [redacted] from [redacted] and she was out in the back barbecuing most of the time that he was there. [redacted] asked him if he "wanted back in." No specific mention was made of a robbery or a bank, but [redacted] "knew" that that was what they were talking about. [redacted] told him that since he [redacted] was not going with them that they would kill him if he mentioned to anyone what they were doing. BRYCE was in the service at this time and was not present during the discussion in August. [redacted] reiterated that no specific location was mentioned at this time and no mention was made as to what kind of job was to take place. He said that he did not want anything to do with the

period. He advised that [REDACTED] CHARLES, JONATHAN, BRYCE TULLER, [REDACTED] since August, 1972. He specifically denied seeing them since the murder of the Arlington County, Virginia, police officer and the bank manager at the Arlington Trust Company, Crystal City, Arlington County, Virginia, on October 25, 1972.

---

He advised that during the discussions [REDACTED] had talked about going to Alaska through Canada and start a new life there. He felt that one place [REDACTED] may have gone after the robbery would be to the location where they had camped out in West Virginia. He said that he had previously furnished directions to this area to Detective WICKSTRAND. He further advised that he did not know where they went and they had never discussed where they would go after "the job" except for the idea of going to Alaska. He also stated that there was doubt in his mind that [REDACTED] CHARLES, BRYCE, [REDACTED] the police officer and bank manager, after reading the accounts of the incident in the news and hearing about it on television.

---

In response to the question as to why he wanted to talk to an attorney before discussing this matter further with officers that he had previously told Sergeant WICKSTRAND, [REDACTED] said that he felt that his prior discussions with [REDACTED] regarding "a job" which they were planning would incriminate him and he was afraid that he would go to jail.

The only other person he could furnish that knew other than [REDACTED] [REDACTED] who lived in Houston, Texas. She spent a few weeks with them in [REDACTED] CHARLES' [REDACTED] CHARLES knew her from his work and [REDACTED] does not know her last name or address other than Houston, Texas.
