Hubbell was [REDACTED] and had known him for [REDACTED] [REDACTED] and Hubbell were both associated with a Warren Smith who was a convicted bank robber and who has served time for the offense.

In view of the close association between Howard Hubbell and [REDACTED] it is not deemed advisable to interview Hubbell as originally set out in Dallas teletype to Seattle, dated 4/10/80, until advised to do so by office of origin. It is believed that if Hubbell is interviewed at this time he would contact [REDACTED] and thereby alert Clair F. Young that he is alleged to be D. B. Cooper.
