A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

RE: DONALD OTIS BERNWORTH
As San Francisco is aware, BERNWORTH has been named as a suspect in this matter by various persons and photographs of BERNWORTH have been shown to witnesses in this matter, who have advised photographs are not identical with UNSUB.
On 8/2/72, SA JACK WILMES, Chicago, advised that in a series of conferences with UAL pilots, concerning hijacking matters, several UAL pilots indicated that they feel BERNWORTH is identical with UNSUB. They advised that this rumor is a strong rumor among UAL pilots. One pilot advised that a UAL 737 [REDACTED] is supposed to have heard from BERNWORTH recently and knows his current whereabouts.
In view of the continued reference to BERNWORTH as a suspect, San Francisco is requested to contact [REDACTED] in an effort to determine the current whereabouts of BERNWORTH so that his whereabouts on date of captioned hijacking, can be established.
