ALLEN EUGENE YORK

Re memo of SA ROBERT H. WICK, to Seattle file 164-81, dated February 13, 1973.

Referenced communication advised YORK should be considered a suspect in this matter because he has been making a number of statements indicating he has unusual wealth and vaguely resembles artist's composite of unsub.

---

All NORJAK eyewitnesses have been repeatedly contacted and have viewed numerous photographs. Up to now, they have all been extremely cooperative, not withstanding the many contacts they have endured, both at work and at home. Based on the above, these witnesses will not be contacted to view photographs unless there is no other way to eliminate a suspect.

---

LEADS:

SEATTLE

AT OLYMPIA, WASHINGTON:

1. Will contact appropriate personnel at the Delson Lumber Company to determine if YORK present at work on 11/24/71.

2. If YORK was not at work or if his work records cannot be located, attempt to determine YORK's financial situation through credit and bank checks, as well as determine if he has a safe deposit box in his name.

3. Determine if YORK has ever been fingerprinted so that his prints can be compared to NORJAK partials currently on file at the Identification Division.

4. Interview YORK and display latest artist's composite to him to evaluate his reaction. (This lead should be done only if YORK cannot be eliminated by investigation set out above).

If YORK is interviewed, arrange to have a color photograph taken with and without sunglasses for eventual display to NORJAK witnesses.
