RE: Suspect RAY BRIEM 164-81-1a (390)

---

Enclosed for Seattle is one photograph of RAY BRIEM.

For the information of Seattle, on 1/5/73, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Los Angeles, California, advised he felt there was a strong resemblance between RAY BRIEM and the artist's conception of the unknown subject in this matter.

He advised BRIEM works for KABC radio as an announcer and has seen BRIEM's picture in newspapers and on billboards. He does not know BRIEM nor has he ever met him personally.

On 1/9/73, [REDACTED] KABC Radio, 3321 South La Cienega, Los Angeles, advised she is well acquainted with RAY BRIEM, a KABC radio announcer. She advised she sees BRIEM regularly in connection with routine business affairs of the station. She advised BRIEM does not, in her opinion, bear any resemblance to the composite drawing.

She added that BRIEM is a respected radio announcer and a substantial individual. He has been a regular employee of KABC for a number of years. She described him as about 40 years of age, 6'2", dark hair and a full face. She furnished a copy of a photograph of BRIEM currently appearing on billboards in connection with KABC publicity.

Los Angeles files indicate BRIEM has conservative political leanings and was characterized in a leaflet

circulated by the First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles as active in the John Birch Society, along with actor JAMES STEWART. He appears to be somewhat of a controversial figure due to his political beliefs.

The original complainant in this matter has never personally observed or met BRIEM, apparently a reputable and respected radio announcer who's photograph has been displayed widely. A person who knows and deals with him regularly does not note any resemblance between BRIEM and the composite of the unknown subject.

In view of the above, BRIEM does not appear to warrant further consideration as a logical suspect at this ti e and unless advised to the contrary by Seattle, no further investigation is being conducted at Los Angeles.
