On 5/7/74, [redacted] advised he felt that a former b7D acquaintance of his from the Los Angeles area could possibly b7E be the individual calling himself D. B. COOPER. [redacted] indicated the person's name is DOYLE, or DOLE, FIELDS.
[redacted] stated that FIELDS is a stunt man working on movies and television programs. According to PCI, FIELDS is an accomplished parachutist and, in fact, worked for approximately one year on a TV series based on the exploits of sky divers.
[redacted] indicated FIELDS is also an avid motorcycle b6 racer and is, or used to be, a member of the "Checkers" b7C Motorcycle Racing Club in the San Fernando Valley near Los b7D Angeles. [redacted] indicated FIELDS [redacted] b7E [redacted] [redacted]
[redacted] stated he met [redacted] with b6 FIELDS [redacted] through [redacted] b7C [redacted] stated he got into FIELDS' confidence and FIELDS b7D asked him [redacted] b7E [redacted] in the Los Angeles area. [redacted] indicated he did not go along with FIELDS but during his association with him learned that FIELDS had been involved in several large department store armed robberies. According to [redacted] FIELDS would rob one or two department stores a year, normally around Christmas time. [redacted] stated FIELDS usually

[redacted] with him and would normally get approximately $150,000 to $200,000 in the robberies. [redacted] stated he was only familiar with the location of one of the robberies and he stated it occurred in 1969, and was the robbery of the large department store located in the Topanga Plaza Shopping Center in Los Angeles.
[redacted] indicated he believed FIELDS could be responsible for the hijacking because during his association FIELDS had presented him with a theoretical situation of what would happen if a man got on an airplane with a bomb or a gun and then requested a large sum of money from an airline. According to [redacted] FIELDS told him he did not see any reason or any way that the airlines could refuse his demands. [redacted] stated, however, he does not recall FIELDS ever mentioning the idea of parachuting out of a hijacked airline. [redacted] indicated he felt this was significant because up until that time there had never been a hijacking of an airliner before.
[redacted] stated FIELDS was very familiar with aircraft because of his jumping experience and because of his military experience in the U. S. Army. [redacted] stated FIELDS was a paratrooper in the Army and it seems to him that FIELDS also had some sort of navigation experience or training while in the Army.
[redacted] indicated the only reason he came forward with this information now was because he was in desperate need of money and he understood there is a reward for information leading to the identity of the person responsible for NORJAK. [redacted] indicated if he could not get money for the information, he would not furnish it, because he fears FIELDS [redacted] stated he felt confident that if FIELDS found out anyone had informed on him regarding his past armed robberies FIELDS would surely kill them.
[redacted] indicated he was certain FIELDS was performing these armed robberies in the Los Angeles area; however, he had no direct knowledge that FIELDS is responsible for NORJAK. [redacted] stated that he has looked at the composite drawing of D. B. COOPER and stated that the man could be FIELDS. [redacted] explained FIELDS through his movie-making background was very good at makeup and he felt FIELDS could greatly change his appearance if he wanted to.

[redacted b7D/b7E] indicated he does not know where FIELDS resides now, but five years ago he was living in North Hollywood, California. [redacted] stated FIELDS lived on the street which is located one block north of Burbank Boulevard in North Hollywood, California. [redacted] stated FIELDS lived in a house on this street one block east of where the Golden State Freeway intersected it and Burbank Boulevard. According to [redacted] the house is on the west side of the street, is a white, two-story house with a detached garage located on the very back of the lot. [redacted] recalled the driveway ran up the left side of the property as one faced it from the street.
[redacted] stated he is certain FIELDS is still receiving royalties from television programs he has made and also parts he has had in movies. [redacted] furnished the following description of FIELDS:
