Re Kansas City airtel to the Bureau and Seattle dated 2/11/75, and Seattle airtel to Kansas City, 3/14/75.
Review of employment application of JON WILLIAM CLAYTON, SSAN 554-96-9314, at the Kansas City Star on 3/25/75, reflects that CLAYTON for the period of 1970 to 1973, claimed employment as an upholstery lead man for prison industries. FBI identification record number 347 397 D, reflects that JON WILLIAM CLAYTON was received at the Federal Correctional Institution, San Pedro, California, on 12/10/70, on a charge of conveying false report to airlines and received a mandatory release on 9/29/72. CLAYTON was convicted at Los Angeles, California, on 12/7/70, and sentenced to a term of three years custody of the Attorney General.
Inasmuch as CLAYTON was in custody on 11/24/71, no further investigation being conducted by Kansas City.
