He stated he is quite familiar with E. A. LANE inasmuch as he interviewed him sometime in the summer of 1975 in connection with his application for employment at Wetterau Foods, [REDACTED - b6/b7C] stated to the best of his recollection LANE was employed by a Piggly Wiggly in Orangeburg, S. C., and traveled from [REDACTED - b6/b7C] to Charleston in the summer of 1975 to talk with him concerning his chances for employment. [REDACTED - b6/b7C] stated on the first trip he was not available to speak with LANE and, therefore, LANE returned approximately a week later and at that time [REDACTED - b6/b7C] interviewed him. [REDACTED - b6/b7C] stated he understands LANE is a very competent butcher, but at the time LANE made application with Wetterau, there were no jobs available and [REDACTED - b6/b7C] directed him to Gurley's Red and White Food Store where he understands he was subsequently hired. [REDACTED - b6/b7C] said to the best of his knowledge LANE never resided in Charleston.

---

After causing a thorough search to be made of his records, he stated he was unable to locate LANE's employment application. He said if it is located in the future, he will contact the FBI immediately.
