[redacted] Mississippi, telephonically advised that he desired to furnish information regarding the person known as D. B. COOPER who hijacked a Northwestern Airlines Boeing 727 in November, 1971. At the outset of the telephone conversation [redacted] advised he had a two-fold purpose for furnishing the information. The first reason was that he was desirous of being considered for any reward that was available in the event he could furnish the identity of D. B. COOPER and second, he felt a sense of loyalty to FBI Director CLARENCE KELLY. For these reasons he was telephonically furnishing the information to Agents of the Kansas City Division rather than contacting the local office of the FBI in Mississippi. Additionally, [redacted] advised that he wished to keep his name anonymous and did not desire any publicity for himself or his family in connection with information furnished by him. He then advised as follows:

During [redacted] at the Louisiana State Prison, Angola, Louisiana. He was assigned [redacted] and for approximately a three month period during the fall of [redacted] he was responsible for [redacted] several inmates. One of these inmates was a white male, approximately 25 years old, nicknamed "Slick". Through his association with "Slick", [redacted] was taken into "Slick's" confidence regarding the planning of a hijacking of a Boeing 727 jetliner. According to [redacted], "Slick" related the following plan:

---

"Slick" would hijack a Boeing 727 somewhere between Spokane, Washington, and Boise, Idaho, by carrying a bag of dynamite on board with him. He would thereafter demand $200,000 in small bills and two parachutes, and attempt to parachute from the airplane into a forested area where an accomplice would be waiting with food, radios, tents,
