The following investigation was conducted by SA [redacted] at Flagstaff, Arizona:
On November 24, 1975, KARL SCHEELE, owner of Monument and Marble Company, 423 West Santa Fe Avenue, Flagstaff, Arizona (also his home), telephone 774-3161, advised that an employee of [redacted] Vance Woodworking and Cabinet Shop, located near his business on West Santa Fe, is a "dead ringer" for the composite picture of "D.B. Cooper". He advised that this person, whose name he does not know, came to Flagstaff about the same time as the hijacking. He advised that this person is an excellent cabinet maker and runs the shop, and has mentioned he is from the east, possibly Pennsylvania.
Mr. SCHEELE gave the following description of this individual and advised he looks like the composite drawing except he has longer hair:
---
Race white Sex male Age 30's Height about 6'1" Weight 200-210 Complexion dark Characteristics does not wear glasses, clean shaven Eyes believed to be brown Hair black Accent none Nationality appears to be possibly Italian or Mexican Scars or marks none
---
He advised there is no indication that the employee is living beyond his means and he has never mentioned flying or parachuting. He advised this individual usually wears Levis and a windbreaker.

Mr. SCHEELE later recontacted interviewing Agent and advised that he observed Arizona license MN-8791 on the employee's pickup truck.
On the same date, according to Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Division records, Phoenix, Arizona, this license is on a 1972 Ford pickup registered to ALEX GONZALES, P.O. Box 2711, Flagstaff, Arizona, and described GONZALES as follows:
Date of birth January 21, 1942 Height 5'11" Weight 210 pounds Eyes brown Hair black
On the same date, no record of ALEX GONZALES could be located at the Flagstaff, Arizona, Police Department or Coconino County Sheriff's Office, Flagstaff.
On December 17, 1975, Mr. SCHEELE was shown the drivers license photograph of GONZALES, and a composite drawing of the unknown individual that hijacked Northwest Airlines, Flight 305, on November 24, 1971. Mr. SCHEELE advised he could see no resemblance between the two; however, he advised that the unknown subject's description fit GONZALES except for age and race. He advised that based on the photograph, GONZALES is the individual employed by [REDACTED] that he was referring to.
