DETAILS: On 3 Nov 76, SSG [REDACTED], Co A, 5/68th Armor, Sullivan Barracks, APO NY 09086, was interviewed concerning any information he might possess relative to the 24 Nov 71 Hijacking of Northwest Airlines Flight 305. [REDACTED] related that he was stationed at Ft Lewis, WA 98433, at the time of the Hijacking and remained at that station until Nov 75. [REDACTED] related that on an unremembered date following the hijacking of Flight 305 he had a conversation with an acquaintance named SSG [REDACTED], 2/77th Armor, Ft Lewis, [illegible - partially obscured/overtyped line]. [During?] the course of the conversation [REDACTED] stated that he thought he knew [illegible] responsible for the hijacking. After asking [REDACTED] not to repeat any of the information he was about to give him, [REDACTED] stated that he knew a US Army Master Sergeant who was also assigned to Ft Lewis, WA, at the time who was a friend of [REDACTED] and also a parachutist and skydiving enthusiast. [REDACTED] did not reveal the Master Sergeant's name to [REDACTED], however, he told him that the man had often spoken about the possibility of skyjacking an aircraft and doing it in much the same manner that Flight 305 was done. [REDACTED] further stated that the Master Sergeant had taken a sudden and unplanned leave just before the hijacking and that he returned a few days after it. [REDACTED] related that [REDACTED] seemed very sure of his information and had again asked him not to tell anyone about it. [REDACTED] could offer no further information concerning the mentioned Master Sergeant, however, he felt that [REDACTED] would remember both the man and the conversation. [REDACTED] is uncertain as to [REDACTED] current whereabouts but related that he was still at Ft Lewis, WA, in Nov 75 assigned to 2/77th Armor.
