SUBJECT: NORJAK

Re Memo SA Manning, dated 6-22-76

---

On 7-8-76 [REDACTED] Washington and [REDACTED] were interviewed. She indicated she was employed [REDACTED] at the Thriftway store in Washougal, Washington during 1971. She said she was so employed at the time of the NORJAK incident and felt that a fellow employee, [REDACTED] might be considered as a possible suspect. She said he fit the general description and had been a former paratrooper in WWII. She pointed out he made a statement that he would be considerably richer after Thanksgiving Day 1971. She said he was at work the following day after Thanksgiving but did not mention anything about being richer. She stated he formerly lived in the Battleground, Washington area and she has no idea where he might be at the present time.

[REDACTED] viewed the sketches of the UNSUB in the NORJAK case and stated there was a slight resemblance.

[REDACTED] Thriftway Stores in Washougal and Orchards, Washington stated he recalled [REDACTED] as a former employee. He said he was unable to locate his application and probably it has since been destroyed. He viewed the sketches in the NORJAK file and stated in his opinion [REDACTED] did not look like the UNSUB. He said he recalled [REDACTED]. He stated in his opinion [REDACTED] was about 5'8", 140 pounds and considered a small person. He said his face was fuller than the sketches indicate.

In view of the opinions that [REDACTED] did not resemble UNSUB in this matter, no further inquiry about [REDACTED] is being considered at this time.
