Re SE report of SA RONALD N. NICHOLS, 5/30/73.

For information of Bureau and receiving offices, on 6/9/76, New Haven received an anonymous post card, postmarked Danbury, Conn., 6/7/76, in which the author suggested one [redacted] as a suspect in this case, since he matches the Unsub's description, has flown the 727, was a USAF pilot and has high expenditures such as a $112,000 Conn. home, a $65,000 why (possibly Wyoming) home, plus three $7,000 autos, a $4,000 motorcycle, 3 aircrafts and three snowmobiles, plus investments in Mexico. He allegedly has made statements about this case and knew the exact date of the statute limitations expiring.

Investigation by New Haven has identified the above suspect as [redacted] 6' tall, who resides at [redacted] New Fairfield, Conn. His former address from 1965 until about 1975 was [redacted] New Fairfield. Prior to 1965, he lived in Falls Church, Va. He is shown to be a pilot for Eastern Airlines, employed since 1962. [redacted] LETTA J. CASE, DOB 5/29/35.

Connecticut license checks verified registration of two 1972 snowmobiles, 2 14 feet boats (one homemade), and a 1949 Willys Station Wagon. No record was located for any additional motor vehicles, aircraft or boats.

Observed at the [redacted] residence was a blue motor- cycle, license not observed, and a red Mercury Cougar, Fla. registration [redacted] together with a Ford Granada, bearing Conn. dealers plates [redacted].

1. Determine registration information for Florida license [redacted].

MIAMI

At Miami, Fla.

Through [redacted] Eastern Air Line's, or other source, review personnel records regarding [redacted].
