On September 8, 1976, the following investigation was conducted by SA CHARLES P. KLUGE, JR. of the Norfolk Division:
Chief Warrant Officer[redacted] [redacted] Military Personnel Office, Fort Monroe, Virginia, advised that he would be unable to provide the Army Military Field Personnel File of Colonel JERRY S. EDWARDS, Social Security Account Number (SSAN) [redacted] to the FBI for personal review. He advised that under the provisions of the Army Privacy Program, certain information could be disclosed from Colonel EDWARDS' file in response to specific questions in accordance with Army Regulation 340-21, Paragraph 3-2G; however, Paragraph 3-2b of this same regulation restricts disclosure of certain other information.
