The following investigation was conducted by SA DAVID ROBERT EVANS:
AT OAKLAND,-CALIFORNIA
On November 15, 1976, inquiry through the California Law Enforcement Teletype System revealed JAMES MARION MOREHEAD, described as a white male, born December 9, 1926, height 6', weight 198 pounds, hair brown, eyes blue, was issued California drivers license number B1205042, showing an address of 14586 Trinidad Road, San Leandro, California, effective January 2, 1968. This license issued to MOREHEAD expired in 1971 and there is no record of renewal.
On November 16, 1976, records of the Alameda County Clerk's Office, Superior Court, Court Action Number 407061 disclosed petitioner JAMES MARION MOREHEAD, Social Security Account Number 309-24-1812, filed petition for dissolution of marriage October 22, 1970. Respondent listed as JEANNE MOREHEAD. Date of separation is listed as October, 1969. There was no record of a final decree of divorce being granted.
on November 19, 1976, records of the State of California Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Identification and Investigation (CII), revealed that JAMES MARION MOREHEAD, also known as, has an arrest record dating back to November 9, 1950, with a most recent address in the State of California occurring on August 1, 1968, by San Leandro, California Police Department for violation of California State Penal Code, Section 270, failure to provide. MOREHEAD's FBI Number is 575 046 A; CII Number 560468, showing description of white male American, born 1926, State of Indiana, 6', 170 pounds, brown hair, blue eyes.
On November 19, 1976, inquiry through the California Law Enforcement Teletype System revealed one JEANNE MOREHEAD, born January 17, 1927, and as of January 15, 1974, was residing at 530 Egret Road, Livermore, California, with a prior address in Hayward, California.

AT LIVERMORE, CALIFORNIA
On November 19, 1976, inquiry at 530 Egret Road, revealed JEANNE MOREHEAD no longer resided at the above address, but had moved to 1441 Olivina, Livermore, California.
On November 19, 1976, JEANNE MOREHEAD, 1441 Olivina, telephone 455-0602 (unlisted) advsied [sic] she married JAMES MARION MOREHEAD on January 4, 1947 at San Francisco, California, and lived with MOREHEAD until their separation, which occurred as she recalled in 1970, when they were residing at an unrecalled address on Calaroga Street in Hayward, California. MOREHEAD advised subsequent to their separation, her husband was self-employed jobbing contractor and did a great deal of work in job contracting for Western Precision Instruments Company, Colorado Springs, Colorado, which is no longer in business. MOREHEAD advised her husband's job necessitated a great deal of travel as her husband often contacted representatives of the Peterbilt Trucking Company in Newark, California, and Kenworth Company in Seattle, Washington.
MOREHEAD advised following her separation from her husband, JAMES MARION MOREHEAD, she recalled that in December, 1970, her husband, she believed, had moved to an unknown residence in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for approximately one year, at which time he returned to Hayward, California, where he resided for six or seven months, prior to returning to Colorado. MOREHEAD stated that subsequent to December, 1970, she had no personal knowledge as to business activities of her husband, although her former husband, on occasion, kept in touch with [redacted], who at one time lived with [redacted], she believed in the State of Colorado. MOREHEAD advised [redacted] currently resides at [redacted], Washington, and is self-employed. MOREHEAD further advised that since she and her husband separated, she has never received any child support payments from him, and has been on welfare. MOREHEAD further advised to her knowledge, her former husband has never amassed any great or sudden wealth or acquired any personal property of substantial value.

MOREHEAD described her former husband, JAMES MARION MOREHEAD, as a white male American, born December 9, 1926, height approximately 6', weight 180 - 190 pounds, light brown hair, blue eyes, usually wears glasses, heavy build, very muscular through the chest area. MOREHEAD stated her husband is very lightly complected, almost pale, is a social drinker and smokes heavily, approximately two packs a day (when they separated in 1970). MOREHEAD stated her husband's hair in 1970 was straight with very little curl and very often wore very heavy sideburns.
MOREHEAD at this point of the interview was exhibited composite photograph of D. B. COOPER. MOREHEAD, upon viewing the composite photograph, stated there was no similarity what-soever between the composite photographs and her former husband, JAMES MARION MOREHEAD. MOREHEAD stated the most dissimilar characteristic is that her husband has a very square looking face with a heavy set and wide jaw area.
