Re Los Angeles airtel to Bureau dated 1/24/77.

Enclosed for Seattle are the original and one copy of two FD-302's and an investigative insert. Enclosed for the Bureau and Los Angeles are one copy each of the FD-302's and the investigative insert.

Investigation at Washington, D.C., determined that the Hoffmann Furniture Company is no longer in business. The business was sold approximately five years ago. It is now Hoffmann Interiors, Inc., 7020 Westmoreland Avenue, Takoma Park, Maryland. The enclosures represent the requested investigation in this matter.

WFO files reflected that COFFELT was the subject of WFOfile 87-14671 captioned "JACK BRYANT COFFELT, aka BRYANT COFFELT, JACK COFFELT; ITSP; IMPERSONATION (OO:KANSAS CITY)" in 1966, KCfile number 87-20360. No Bureau file number was noted. The investigation was instituted by Kansas City to determine the veracity of information received from the Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department that indicated that COFFELT was spending large amounts of money in Lawrence, Kansas, and that his wife, TAVE COFFELT, worked for the FBI and he worked for the Justice Department in Washington, D.C. of ROBERT LINCOLN TODD BECKWITH, a wealthy elderly man from WDC, [illegible mark] the last direct descendant of ABRAHAM LINCOLN who freely gave COFFELT large sums of money. During an interview of COFFELT, he denied impersonating a Justice Department employee. He said TAVE COFFELT was actually TAVE THOMPSON, who, according to COFFELT, was never employed by the FBI. At the time of the interview, THOMPSON resided somewhere in New Jersey. The file further reflects that COFFELT was described as a white, male, DOB 2/20/16 at Carthage, Missouri, FBI Number 590 868. WFO files reflect no additional information re COFFELT.
