Dear Mr. Milnes,
I want to thank you very much for your courtesy and kindness in sending me the 34 page booklet listing the serial numbers from the Northwest Airlines ransom money. I received the list two days ago.
I am enclosing some newspaper articles which you might like to see and which might not have been in your Seattle newspapers. The authors of the article on the new F.B.I. building is the architectural

editor of the New York Times and also won the first Pulitzer Prize for architecture. Last August, when I had a free trip to Washington, D.C. (thanks to my sister, who is an airline stewardess based in New York), I took a tour of your F.B.I. building and was really shocked by the laboratory, or rather, the lack of a laboratory. You won't know how much I appreciate the booklet that you sent me unless you know that I first wrote to Assistant to the Director Green asking him for a copy, but he could not be bothered answering my letter.

I then wrote to Mr. Mattson, the Portland D.A.C., from whom I have not yet heard, and also to Mr. Grapp, the Los Angeles D.A.C. Thereupon, an agent from the Los Angeles office called me and very politely explained that because of the size of the booklet it could only be "disseminated to financial institutions".
However, on that same day, one of Mr. Grapp's "financial institutions" had given me a $20 bill that looked so funny that I sent it to the Secret Service, from whom I have not yet heard. I hope that the F.B.I. isn't really depending on these financial institutions to help them catch the hijacker.

I hope that my handwriting is not too hard to read, for last time my zip code was misread as [REDACTED] instead of the correct [REDACTED] Thanks you again for the booklet.
Sincerely yours, [REDACTED - signature]
