What does the scan show?
A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

TO : SAC, SEATTLE (164-81) DATE: 5-5-72 FROM : SA [REDACTED] SUBJECT: NORJAK

[REDACTED] called and advised that a Lab Report was enroute to Seattle reflecting that the photo of the alleged ransome bill printed on Page 2 of the Seattle Flag newspaper has been examined with the microfilm record of the true ransome bill and determined by the lab not to be the true ransome bill.

I called SA [REDACTED] at the Bureau on 5/5/72. I told him that obviously this matter was basically a fraud and in view of this we planned on interviewing a person at the SEATTLE FLAG to determine the source of the story, advising him that the bill was a forgery and seek the identity of the person interviewed. If he declined, then we contemplated having a subpoena served on him to appear before the grand jury.
