For information of receiving offices, on 6/7/72, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Gary Post Tribune, Gary, Indiana, appeared at the Gary Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and advised he had been paging through a recent issue of the Airline Pilots Magazine and saw the composite photograph of D. The individual representing himself as [REDACTED] approached [REDACTED] at the Indianapolis Airport requesting a flight to Ypsilanti, Michigan. [REDACTED] quoted [REDACTED] a price and [REDACTED] decided it was too much. [REDACTED] During the flight, [REDACTED] sat in the co-pilot's seat. After take off, [REDACTED] took control of the aircraft periodically and made the statement he had flown in World War II. [REDACTED] felt [REDACTED] knew what he was doing. Also during the flight, [REDACTED] again expressed his desire to go to Ypsilanti, Michigan. ---

[REDACTED] told him he would take him to Midway and he did, leaving [REDACTED] off at the terminal building at Midway Airport in Chicago. [REDACTED] feels the composite photograph of COOPER looked very much like the person named [REDACTED] whom he flew from Indianapolis, Indiana to Midway. The height of COOPER may be a little off but the general description fits according to [REDACTED] was a very heavy smoker. He was dressed well wearing a sport coat with no tie, and he carried a grip type hand bag. [REDACTED] remained calm throughout most of the flight but at times appeared nervous.

---

[REDACTED] also believes [REDACTED] told him that he was a para- trooper at one time. [REDACTED] stated he believes [REDACTED] used two initials before his last name. He does not remember what the two initials were. The names D. B. COOPER and DAN COOPER were not familiar to [REDACTED]

---

The money order that [REDACTED] gave [REDACTED] to pay for the flight turned out to be a stolen TEXCO Money Order taken on 6/18/70 from King - Kwick Number 7 Madison Avenue, Covington, Kentucky. [REDACTED] was shown photographs of the following individuals concerning the stolen money order:
