For the information of Seattle and Minneapolis, at 9:50 a.m., 4/11/72, [REDACTED] Butte, Montana, [REDACTED], and [REDACTED] telephonically advised as follows:
On or about 11/11/71, or 12/71, he observed a vehicle parked on [REDACTED] behind the RADIO ENGINEERING AND SERVICE COMPANY. This vehicle was a Dodge Van, which pulled in sometime before 5:00 p.m., on 11/11 or 12/71. He was curious as he wondered if these people who had the van were in trouble. He knocked on the door of the van and a man and his wife, who were in the van, said their vehicle had broken down, but they were on their way to the Wise River, Montana, area to do some hunting.
As he recalls, it was a 1970 or 1971, green and white license believed to be from the State of Minnesota. Inside the van was a large green motorcycle.
After reading about the recent hijacking of the airplane, whereby the individual had parachuted near Provo, Utah, he told his wife upon recollection that the people they had observed in the van in 11/71, could conceivably have something to do with the hijacking over in the State of Washington, in that the motorcycle would be an easy method of escape after a person had parachuted from an airplane.

He now recalls that the man he talked with in the van looked very much like the composite drawing of D. B. COOPER when he first saw it published in a Great Falls, Montana, newspaper.
These unknown individuals informed him they were going to Wise River, Montana, to make contact with the owner of the bar at Wise River to arrange a hunting trip.
The vehicle had mechanical trouble in Butte, Montana, and as a result they had parked it off Montana Street and were going to be getting it fixed at WILSON MOTORS.
It is his recollection that they left around noon on what would possibly be Monday, 11/15/71, and he assumes that the vehicle was repaired.

The individuals were not apprehensive in any manner when they talked to him and to his knowledge they had no contact with anyone in the neighborhood in the par- ticular area on [REDACTED] while the van was parked in that area.
[REDACTED] advised he has a [REDACTED] who live on [REDACTED] Washington, where the FBI Agents and the Army were recently searching for the Unsub.

On 4/25/72, [REDACTED] WILSON's PLYMOUTH GARAGE, Butte, Montana, advised that on 11/15/71, [REDACTED] brought a 1970 Dodge A100 van truck license [REDACTED] (state unknown) into the garage for repair of a starter and "U" joint. [REDACTED] was displayed a composite drawing of the Unsub in this case and he stated that to his knowledge, this did not resemble the [REDACTED] that came into the garage on 11/15/71. [REDACTED] stated [REDACTED] had a much broader nose and that he was approximately 5' 1" in height.

On 5/3/72, [REDACTED] was contacted and again stated previously recorded information as set out above.
[REDACTED] again reiterated that he believed the license plate on the van that he observed on 11/11/71, or 11/12/71, was green and white and quite possibly could have been a Minnesota license. [REDACTED] further advised that in his discussion
