Re Memo of SA [REDACTED] to SAC, 8/1/72
---
Referenced memorandum contained information regarding [REDACTED] alleging that he is able to locate currency by means of [REDACTED]
---
On 8/2/72 [REDACTED] telephonically advised that [REDACTED] had changed his original location of a currency cache to a spot approximately 2½ miles east of the original location. It should be noted that the new location is approximately on line of flight of the hijacked aircraft as set forth on original maps and in other data, and also approximately 1½ miles from Point A, of a triangulated search area, in a northerly direction.
On 8/3/72 the writer, [REDACTED] went to the intersection of County Roads 16 and 32 in Clark County where [REDACTED] exhibited time-honored techniques of [REDACTED] This resulted in producing what they concluded to be the direction and approximate location of a large sum of currency. Three other reference points were located on County Road 20 and using the same method angles were determined setting up a triangle in which this large amount of currency is believed to be located by [REDACTED]
---
One other reference point, being Point A (Supra), was located, after which both [REDACTED] using their technique produced an angle which when extended appeared to contact the previously established location within the triangle. [handwritten: illegible] 4-81-Sub A 1a (306)
Maps explaining the above information are attached to this communication. 1 map [guess: traced] Sub E
---
The writer to test the veracity of the technique used hid small sums of currency in various locations and observed both [REDACTED] locate the hidden currency [REDACTED] 164-81-3766
---
It is felt consideration should be given to exploring the possibility that a large sum of currency is located at the area outlined in red on one of the attached maps.
