Dear Sir:
I called the FBI office in Seattle on the morning of 4 August 1972 at about 1:00 A.M. and gave the person who answered the phone the following information:
I am [redacted b6/b7C] with the Federal Aviation Agency. I work at the Enroute Air Traffic Control Center located at 3101 Auburn Way South in Auburn, Washington. After getting off work at 11:30 P.M. on the evening of 3 August 1972, another [redacted b6/b7C] and I drove to the Red Rooster Tavern located at 3244 Auburn Way South, to have a beer. While there we decided to order some chicken to go and play a game of pool.
---
There were two couples (indian) sitting at a table and they noticed our FAA badges and asked us to sit down with them and buy us a beer. We sat with them and they started asking us questions about [redacted b6/b7C] [redacted] In the course of the conversation one of the persons we were sit- ting with, [redacted b6/b7C] he said his name was, asked me about hi-jacking and specifically about D. B. Cooper.
---
[redacted b6/b7C] told me he said he thought he knows who D. B. Cooper is and went on to explain that he knows a guy who's initials are D. B. and that he was shacked up with a girl named Cooper for a long time. [redacted] said he was the o[ne] [who] introduced them. In the course of the conversation [redacted] mentioned the name [redacted b6/b7C] I'm not sure the correct spelling of the name. D.B. He also said this guy was just crazy enough to do something like that, (Hi- Jack an airplane.) He said this guy had done *some flying* and that he was a para-trooper in the service for three years. He also said *this guy fits the description of D. B. Cooper and [redacted b6/b7C] said he hadn't seen the guy in a long time but that he thought he was in Alaska.
---
When I got home that night (or morning) I called the FBI office in Seattle, number MA2-0460 and gave the person who answered the phone the fore- going information.
