On 7/31/72, [REDACTED] Woodland Hills, California, was interviewed to ascertain if she had any pertinent knowledge concerning the Norjak matter or any other matter of investigative interest to the FBI.
[REDACTED] stated she was a relative of ART LINKLETTER, the well-known television personality. She spoke rapidly with a distinct French accent and made disjointed statements about how she had deduced by reading articles on various murders and hijackings that [REDACTED] ART LINKLETTER, have been responsible for the Zodiac murders, the mutilation murders of farm workers in Yuba City, California, the TATE - LA BIANCA murders in Los Angeles and the ax murders which took place in a national park in California. When it was pointed out to her that in some of these matters the perpetrators have been identified and convicted of the crimes, she replied very positively that the police have identified the wrong persons as no police agency will touch ART LINKLETTER or his family.
She advised that ART LINKLETTER is the [REDACTED] [REDACTED] and that he was raised by a [REDACTED] named LINKLETTER. ART LINKLETTER was previously known as [REDACTED]

She advised ART LINKLETTER was once a hit man for a crime syndicate out in New York in the 1930's and has been responsible for many crimes throughout the U.S. When anyone threatened to disclose him they are killed and she added that [REDACTED] have been brought up in the same criminal way.
She added that DIANE LINKLETTER, ART's daughter, had not actually committed suicide when she allegedly jumped out of a Hollywood apartment while on drugs. She stated that [REDACTED] pushed DIANE out of the window upon [REDACTED] ART LINKLETTER. She believed this was due to the fact that DIANE knew too much about [REDACTED] criminal activities.
[REDACTED] then displayed photographs of ART, [REDACTED] which she had clipped from trade publications, advising she had deduced from newspaper articles that [REDACTED] was the Zodiac killer and [REDACTED] was "D.B. Cooper". She stated the wrong man was going to trial in the Yuba City, California murders as she has deduced from reading newspaper reports that [REDACTED] was the only person who could be responsible for these killings.
She stated that the LINKLETTERS were involved in the TATE - LA BIANCA murders in Los Angeles but could provide no specific reasons why she believed this. When asked if she had reported her beliefs to the local police she stated she had done so on several occasions but apparently no one believed her or would not take any action because of ART LINKLETTER's social status.
[REDACTED] advised she writes many letters reporting her beliefs to various police agencies and knows that no action is ever taken because of ART LINKLETTER's social and financial status. All of her information is based on articles she has read about various crimes.
She does not have any specific firsthand information but appears obsessed with the idea that ART LINKLETTER has for many years been connected with crime syndicates in New York and Chicago and that [REDACTED] have been responsible for numerous hijackings and murders in the U.S.

In at least two of the crimes which she alleges were perpetrated by the LINKLETTERS, the suspects have been identified, tried and convicted; therefore, there is no basis of fact in her allegations.
[REDACTED] appears to have an extremely wild imagination b6 coupled with the obsession that ART LINKLETTER and [REDACTED] b7C are "master criminals".
Following the interview of [REDACTED] on 7/31/72, a b6 letter was directed by [REDACTED] to the Los Angeles Office b7C postmarked 8/1/72, in which she stated she had forgotten to demonstrate how [REDACTED] as "D.B. Cooper" had placed a piece of scotch tape in his nose to make his nose appear narrower.
Enclosed with the letter was an airline ticket which she had recently received through the mails with an invitation to visit a land development project in Redlands, California. In her letter she stated this ticket was "bait" and believes ART LINKLETTER, through the land development company, was going to kill her. She stated, "I have an idea this two-way trip would be only one-way because of an accident". These tickets and invitations are regularly received by home owners in Southern California and to construe the receipt of such literature as some type of plot to murder appears completely absurd.
Based on the above, it does not appear that any information provided by [REDACTED] should be considered reliable b6 or valid and no investigation concerning allegations made b7C by [REDACTED] appears warranted.
The above is being furnished for the information of St. Louis and Seattle as more letters from [REDACTED] might well b6 be received in the future wherein she will allege to have b7C information concerning other major crimes.
The airline ticket, photographs of the LINKLETTERS and the letter from [REDACTED] dated 8/1/72, will be maintained b6 in Los Angeles file 164-497. b7C
