Handwritten citizen letter to FBI re D.B. Cooper skyjack suspect and complaints about FBI response

Dear Sir,

Re: D.B. Cooper Skyjack.

I hesitate to be critical of your agents or agents of other offices. Because I have encountered so much foot dragging and lack of attention in various matters I shall do so now.

The local office of the FBI was contacted for me by a [REDACTED] last Friday the 20th of October. They were informed I had pertinent information regarding the above. [REDACTED] was told they could not be here until the 24th (Tues). I followed this up with a letter to that office and also to Northwest Airlines both should have been received Tuesday morn. the 24th.

There is a time factor involved and I explained that quick action was necessary. As of yet I have received no further word. Course today is the 25th and they may show yet. [illegible]

[...of this] person who I believe used the name C.B. Cooper for the skyjack is one I have been working on to find his contacts for drugs. I shall explain this further in a moment.

This individual is a pilot, a parachut[ist] and has $700,000.00 stashed. He also has the intelligence, ability and criminal attitude to attempt this type of play.

Now the reason I came by this information was due to the fact, he is involved very heavy in heroine. Strictly on my own as a private citizen with [REDACTED] I started 5 months ago to do something about the drug problem. [guess: you] see I didn't think enough was being done so I had to put my 2¢ in. [REDACTED] that were constantly exposed to this filth was reason enough and also you can [guess: through] [illegible] in the fact that I couldn't find a home here that it wasn't in one way or the other reaching.

During my crash program to learn all I could about drugs and other sources (starting from scratch) I was suspected of [REDACTED]

I am not crying about that since this was the proper thing to do. I did find the B.N.D.D. agents a little over zealous in their statement of facts in fact very much so, but I guess they just feel that they are doing their job. I can prove my position and innocence at the proper time and this is not my purpose here.

Just because I [REDACTED] wasn't going to stop me from the program I set for myself some time ago. This basically was to find the sources and through legal means stop them. Petty pushers and small time dealers were all around us and as fast as they were picked up two would pop up behind them. I knew that just snitching would stop nothing [guess: and] would just unnecessarily endanger [REDACTED] and me. So if I was going to really do some good it would have to be much deeper. I drew on the fact I had lived in an area for several years where drugs were plentiful and the people trusted me. Because of this and the large number of people I know I [guess: assured] [REDACTED] with top credentials.

I now have the inside track to large quantities throughout the West Coast, Canada and Mexico, But guess what. Each direction I turn some one tries to goof it up. Just who is paying who? I know the vast sums of money have reached deep into the enforcement agency's but this is really far out. Is every one on the take?

I also know [guess: now] that unless I can convince a few people otherwise there will be a contract on me when I go out. Mostly because of a stupid use of information in the County Vice Office here. There must be a few straight intelligent people around here that [guess: one] can work with.

I also know where phoney money is being printed etc. etc.

[guess: As] you know [guess: none] of this information is of much value unless it is properly developed at the right time. Some of this will go down the drain unless some one some where starts cutting out the fat.
