A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

TO : SAC, PORTLAND (164-41) DATE: December 5, 1972

FROM : SAC, SEATTLE (164-81) (P)

SUBJECT: NORJAK OO: SEATTLE

RE: UNSUB; TELEPHONE NUMBERS CALLED FROM LA CENTER AREA PAY PHONE BOOTHS, NOVEMBER 24, 1971

---

The following background information is being provided receiving offices in order to facilitate their investigation:

On November 24, 1971, UNSUB, aka DAN COOPER, hijacked a Northwest Orient Airlines Plane and parachuted into an area east of Woodland, Washington. On the assumption that UNSUB may have made a long-distance phone call from a pay telephone booth, all the pay telephone booths in the Woodland, Washington area have been checked for long-distance calls made on November 24, 1971, and November 25, 1971.

The receiving offices are requested to obtain the subscribers' names to those telephones in their areas and forward the names to the Seattle Division. Seattle will compare those names against those contained in the Norjak indices. Later a request will be made to obtain driver's license photographs of some of the subscribers.
