A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Memorandum
TO : SAC, SEATTLE (164-81) (P) DATE: 2/5/73
FROM : SA THOMAS J. MANNING [handwritten: Sus DD]
SUBJECT: NORJAK
---
On 2/5/73 [REDACTED] Woodland, Washington telephonically advised that in spite of repeated requests nothing has been done to make the property used by the US Army at the time of the Norjak search usable. [REDACTED] advised he has been most patient in this regard and with the advent of Spring desires that some affirmative action be taken as soon as possible to repair the damage caused by Army vehicles when use was made of his property. He was advised that this would be called to the attention of the Seattle office and upon some decision being made on property repair he would be advised.
It is to be noted that SRA [REDACTED] has been in contact with US Army claims at Ft. Lewis and on 11/30/72 advised that securing of an Army grader through the claims section was being worked on.
It is also to be noted that the Army has stated that the claims resulting from the Norjak search were paid through the Dept. of Justice rather than Army claims but the Army felt they could handle this particular matter.
It is requested that to avoid embarrassment to the Bureau on this matter in view of the long standing claim that some contact be made with Army claims to determine their disposition of the matter and that the writer be advised as soon as possible in order that [REDACTED] may be advised on action being taken.
