SUBJECT: NORJAK OO: SEATTLE

UNSUB: [REDACTED]

---

It is possible that UNSUB made a trial run or runs prior to NORJAK, for the purpose of perfecting his hijack plan.

If passenger lists of flights from Portland to Seattle for two weeks prior to NORJAK could be obtained the names on these lists could be compared to NORJAK Indices, and other lists currently on file at Seattle in order to possibly identify UNSUB.

In an attempt to determine if UNSUB made a trial run prior to NORJ[AK], [REDACTED] Northwest Orient Airlines, Seattle, was contacted on 7/16/73 and he furnished the following information:

Records of reservations are stored in Northwest Orient Airlines Univac Computer System and can be retrieved as far back as five years.

Copies of tickets sold by Northwest Orient Airlines are on file and can also be reviewed (it is noted that if a ticket was purchased at another airlines and used on Northwest it would be returned to the other airline).

---

There are four major airlines flying from Portland to Seattle - Northwest, Western, United, and Air West.

---

[REDACTED] General Office, Minneapolis, would be the one to contact to determine the feasibility of retrieving these records.

---

It is recognized that this is a rather remote possibility, but in view of the fact that NORJAK is the only unsolved hijacking the following lead is being set out:

LEAD

MINNEAPOLIS At Minneapolis, Minnesota

Will contact [REDACTED] Northwest Orient Airlines to determine the feasibility of obtaining passenger lists for all Northwest Flights from Portland to Seattle during the period 11/10/71 - 11/23/71. (What is desired is a conveniently obtainable list of those passengers actually making the above- described flights as well as flight number, date, and contact phone number and address).
