Re Little Rock teletype to Director, 9/1/77.

On 9/16/77, [REDACTED] were contacted at the University of Arkansas after several attempts had been made to contact them earlier. [REDACTED] stated that he is very difficult to contact at home inasmuch as [REDACTED] stated that she is only in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from Friday morning until Monday afternoon.

Both [REDACTED] were cooperative. [REDACTED] stated that he had finally told [REDACTED] that [REDACTED] [REDACTED] were planning any further contact with them until the FBI gave them an indication that it was proper to reinstate the contact with the [REDACTED] was advised that the FBI was not trying to control his [REDACTED] activities, however, in the interest of justice it was hoped that he and his wife would refrain from entering into any [REDACTED] contracts until after the case had been disposed of.

[REDACTED] stated that at no time did she make an identification of D. B. COOPER from [REDACTED]

[REDACTED] She did note there were some similarities, however, she did not make any positive identification. She believed that her telephone conversation was probably recorded [REDACTED] and she believed that he tried to con her into releasing some confidential information, however, she does not believe that she revealed any confidential information and did tell him items that had appeared in the newspapers and on television.

---

[REDACTED] consented to a longer more thorough interview which would include all of the information she recalls from the time of the hijacking until the present time, however, she wondered whether she might be able to review a copy of the statement she gave to the FBI immediately after the hijacking, including a description of the man she knew as D. B. COOPER.
