Mr. John M. Reed Special Agent In Charge United States Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation 915 Second Avenue Seattle, Washington 98174

Dear Mr. Reed:

Re: Hijacking Northwest Airlines Date of Loss: November 24, 1971

We would appreciate your assistance in updating our records regarding the subject, in particular as to if the party has been apprehended and also if any of the funds paid by our company to our insured have been recovered.

In the [redacted] past and present, we have been contacted by a [redacted] and most recently of [redacted] In 1976 she relayed to us all information regarding the hijacking, also stated she had given the same information to the Bureau, five years before. We in turn relayed her information to [redacted] New York Branch of the Bureau. Later, [redacted] advised us that the information supplied by [redacted] was nothing new and they had already checked her out. Most recently, she again wrote us an eleven page letter, regarding "D. B. Cooper" [redacted]. She has listed the names and addresses of parties who could identify this man. She concluded by stating "she smells fear among some of these people" and has not pursued the matter. She has requested that we be very careful who we show this information, that she furnished, too. She hopes we find [redacted] before he finds her or she'll be a dead duck. Also she states she can expect no protection from the F.B.I. based on findings.

We would appreciate hearing from you regarding the status of the case and in particular [redacted] letter to us.

Yours very truly,

[redacted signature]
