RE: [REDACTED]

After several attempts, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Centralia, Washington, telephone [REDACTED] was con- tacted on 7/17/79 and she advised that she was contacted by the Sheriff's Office in Lewis County concerning [REDACTED] [REDACTED] She told them that she suspected [REDACTED] to be involved in an airplane hijacking over Washington State approximately seven years ago. She explained that after the publicity concerning the hijacking appeared in the news media, she received a telephone call from [REDACTED] He called her from a pay phone in Seattle and told her that he had hijacked the airplane. He said the newspaper accounts were wrong as he never did parachute out of the aircraft, but merely threw out the parachute. He said he stayed on the plane until it landed and then exited the aircraft with the money. [REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED] whose last name was [REDACTED]

[REDACTED] advised that she does not think [REDACTED] would lie to her because when he was [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

[REDACTED] advised that she spoke to an FBI Agent (name unrecalled) after the hijacking concerning [REDACTED]

[REDACTED] stated that she last saw [REDACTED] about seven years ago and she understands he is living somewhere in Southern California.

[REDACTED] described [REDACTED] as follows:

The information as provided by [REDACTED] does not appear to match the events of this case. It seems that the data given by [REDACTED] is erroneous as the hi- jacker actually jumped from the aircraft. Apparently, [REDACTED] did, in fact, lie to her, although she does not believe this. Also, she advises that [REDACTED] does not smoke and the UNSUB in this case was known to be a smoker.

---

Unless it is felt otherwise, it is suggested that no further action be taken in this matter as it appears [REDACTED] was merely telling a tale to an elderly lady who believes he would not lie to her.
