What does the scan show?
A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

Honorable Butler Derrick House of Representatives Washington, D.C. 20515
Dear Congressman Derrick:
Reference is made to your correspondence dated July 28, 1976, concerning the above subject.
Upon contacting the Social Security Department in an attempt to trace [REDACTED] through this means, we received the following quote;
A strong humanitarian purpose is not deemed to exist" (C7376 (a).
Needless to say, this law seriously hinders law enforcement in its' attempt to locate missing persons through Social Security.
Social Security will, however, release information directly to the [REDACTED] family, therefore, we have written [REDACTED] advising him of the [REDACTED] steps to take in requesting information from Social Security as a relative of the missing subject.
