Dear [REDACTED b6/b7C]
R.E. your unsolved 1971 heist thirty years ago today. The D.B. Cooper hijacker. Do you know what the initials stood for and were they corect?
I have a pencil sketch of myself signed by [REDACTED b6/b7C] in Sept [REDACTED b6/b7C] while I was assigned to a fire fighting division 3215 Eng 77 Co (Provisional) Geiger Field Spokane Washington. We were at Camp 7 mile out of Kellogg Idaho the signed sketch was [REDACTED b6/b7C]
I was a WWII tail gunner on a B24 who had finished my missions over Germany but lacked points to be discharged.

I had been assigned to a fire fighting division and writing to my sweetheart but short on stationery so used the pages to write to my intended. She kept all of my letters. The first name of the sketching artist was [REDACTED] and the middle name was initial [REDACTED] and the last was [REDACTED]. He was a younger man to young to enter the service but asked many questions about flying and use of parachutes, altitude and bailing out of planes. Many young men were fighting fires caused by Japanese balloon bombs and [guess: incendiary] [guess: to cause] fires. If this is the hijacker he would have lost his low cut shoes and broken ankles on landing if he survived which I doubt. Sincerely [guess: yours] [REDACTED]
