SAC J. E. MILNES

UNSUB; Northwest Airlines Flight #305 Portland to Seattle 11/24/71 CAA - HIJACKING; EXTORTION

OO: Seattle

---

At 10:30 AM I advised SA MANNING that one helicopter from the BPA, two from the Air National Guard in Portland were on their way to Woodland now; that those three, together with the one supplied by Weyerhaueser seemed to me to be enough and in view of this he should advise Army pilots that they were being relieved. I furnished this information to SA [REDACTED] at the Bureau and told b6 him that since we would very likely have to pay for them b7c anyway pending the decision as to whether we would continue their use, we utilize them but were in the process of relieving them at once. I furnished him the details of the replacement helicopters.

[REDACTED] from Fort Lewis called and I b6 advised him that since we had found other helicopters b7c we were relieving his men and thanked them very much.
