Woman Who Predicted 4 Airplane Crashes Concealed Psychic Power for Years Because She Feared Ridicule
---
By IAIN CALDER and JACK KELLEY A California woman who predicted four plane crashes and the assassination of Bobby Kennedy, says she hid her uncanny ability for years because she feared people would laugh at her. Mrs. Arlene Adams, 52, a civilian administrator at Edwards Air Force Base, told The ENQUIRER: "I first realized I had psychic powers when I was a teen-ager, but people used to laugh at me. So I kept quiet about it until a few years ago, when people began to believe it was possible." One of the first to acknowledge Arlene's astounding talent was her boss, Col. James E. Foley, a 28-year Air Force veteran, now retired. Foley told The ENQUIRER that on Jan. 2, 1966, Arlene began a run of tragic but amazingly accurate and detailed predictions to him and fellow workers who helped oversee aircraft tests at the base. "The day after New Year's, 1966, I stopped by Arlene's desk and she told me she had a feeling that Gen. Irving Branch would be leaving Edwards and not coming back," he said. "Gen. Branch left the next morning on a flight up north, and a few hours later we got word that his T-38 aircraft was missing. Search planes were sent out and, since he was presumed to be flying over water, that's where they started looking. "That's when Arlene told me differently. She said she 'saw him' still strapped in his seat, sitting upright in the plane wreckage which would be found at the edge of a grove of trees, the tops of which had been sheared off. "We didn't see how she could be right. We thought he was coming in over Puget Sound. But we found him exactly as she had said — strapped upright in his seat at the edge of a grove of trees whose tops had been sheared off by the plane. "In May of that same year, she told me she had a premonition about the wreckage of a big white plane, and that Col. Joseph Cotten was somehow involved. On June 8, Col. Cotten was flying a chase plane alongside the B-70 — which is a big, white plane — when the B-70 went down." Equally chilling, said Foley, was Mrs. Adams' prediction of the crash of an X-15 and the death of one of its test pilots. "We had three different test pilots for the X-15, a civilian and two Air Force majors. In mid-October, 1967, Arlene said to me, 'Col. Foley, I see that black bird (the X-15) crashing.' And she said she saw a tall, slim major on board. "On November 15, the X-15 went down with Maj. Mike Adams, a tall, slim man, at the controls." Foley concluded with this gripping recollection: "The only Negro astronaut, Maj. Robert Lawrence, was in our training school when Arlene told me she saw him 'going in' (Air Force terminology for a crash). "It happened 15 days later. He was in a two-seater F-104 that crashed on Dec. 8, 1967. The other man survived. Maj. Lawrence didn't."

Mrs. Rosalie Beyer, a friend of Mrs. Adams, told of another prediction, just as frightening. "The thing that is remembered best around here," she said at her home, "is the 1968 New Year's party when we had a few friends over and the conversation somehow got around to ESP. "That's when Arlene said that an assassination would take place on the sixth of June that would shake the country. But she couldn't quite see who it was. Two months later she told me she knew — she said it would be Sen. Robert Kennedy." Sen. Kennedy was shot June 5. The following day — June 6 — he died. Mrs. Adams told The ENQUIRER at her home in Lancaster, Calif.: "When I have a premonition, I don't see it just once, but many times, each time clearer than before."

New Predictions by Arlene Adams Ted Kennedy will be elected our next President, says Mrs. Arlene Adams, who correctly forecast Bobby Kennedy's assassination. "I see Ted Kennedy becoming our next President," she explained to The ENQUIRER. "Our younger people are all for him. Senator Kennedy will be drafted to run." Among her other predictions: "I see Aristotle Onassis being sick with cancer of the prostate. I also see a separation between Jackie and him. But there will be no other man in the picture — not immediately. "Within the next few months there will be another great earthquake in California. "And a prominent person will be kidnapped and held as hostage for the release of Angela Davis. I definitely see more violence around her."
