Dear Sirs: 164-81 I [guess: would] like to get more information on "D.B. Cooper" than is avail- able in the news paper. Such as handwriting specimens, a clear picture, habits, health. I live [REDACTED] [guess: I am convinced] that many persons believe the [guess: person]- [guess: sula] to be such a secluded area it would be a likely place to get "lost" [guess: and] [guess: I would] like to be alert. Sincerely [REDACTED]

Dear Sir,

I am suggestively writing to you. About [illegible] airplane hyjacking. I am an imaginative person and I have ideas come to me. I recently sent one to an airline. I am sending this one to you.

I think I see a possible way of altering the [guess: hijacking] arena which could [guess: lead] to [guess: other] possible [guess: methods] of [guess: thwarting]. The way I see it [guess: it] involves a lot of [guess: a] very little labor and material according to the degree of [guess: thwarting] needed.

For [guess: planes] smaller [guess: than] [guess: the] 747, I suggest that the aisle be interrupted with one or maybe two sets of seats be set [guess: up] [guess: consecutive] [guess: per] each.

SEE DRAWING ON BACK

PRESENT ARRANGEMENT [Sketch of airline seating rows in three columns, labeled with letters A, I, S, L, E along the aisle divider. Rows depicted with wavy marks representing seat cushions/backs.]

---

ALTERED [Sketch of modified airline seating arrangement, similar layout but with seats rearranged or removed. Letters A, I, S, L, E again appear along the aisle divider.]

---

[guess: with] or independently the [guess: most] suggestive innovation may also help. This involves the area between the top of each seatback and on up the ceiling of [guess: plane], [guess: south] [guess: large].

2) I suggest a visual block which would be effected by simply a short upward [guess: lashed] curtain.

---

[diagram: front view showing a curtain rod with slats/hooks hanging down, labeled 'CURTAIN' and 'SLATS', with arrow pointing to 'CEILING' on right side] [diagram: side view showing ceiling line, curtain, and seats, labeled 'CEILING', 'CURTAIN', 'SEATS', with arrow labeled 'SIDEVIEW']

---

[guess: So] you can see what I suggest cuts [guess: down] [guess: much] the [guess: hijackers] can see. Its a line of thought - [guess: suggestive] thought. I have others. Sincerely
