TO : SAC. SEATTLE (164-81) DATE: 12/15/72

FROM : SA JOHN L KETCHAM (P)

SUBJECT: NORJAK

---

On 12/15/72, 6:45AM, [REDACTED] Renton, Wash. called to relate that he thought he had seen a man who looked like D B COOPER last night at the Rendezvous Tavern, Renton. Man was, he said, about 5'8". He called the Renton Police and they responded, altho Renton PD knows [REDACTED]

[REDACTED] said he then had an argument with two women who wanted to use the phone booth he was using to call the Renton PD and he thought they were in with COOPER.

He wanted copy of sketch of COOPER as he had etched the one in the paper in his brain, but now wanted a refresher.

[REDACTED] Renton PD, who responded, said that man described as fitting description of COOPER is apparently known to the bar maid at the tavern, and man was gone when PD got there. [REDACTED] said it appeared that the people in the bar had baited [REDACTED] who was already tilting a little to start out.
