Subject: NORJAK OO: SEATTLE
ARMED AND DANGEROUS
---
Re SUB J miscellaneous persons. [REDACTED] speculations. Also reference a letter from NORTHWEST AIRLINES to Seattle FBI dated 1/9/92.
[REDACTED], Hixson, Tennessee [REDACTED] wrote a letter to NORTHWEST ORIENT AIRLINES requesting information concerning the reward in captioned case. A copy of that letter was forwarded to the Seattle Office of the FBI by [REDACTED].
---
On 4/30/92, [REDACTED] was contacted at his home in Hixon, Tennessee, telephonically by SA [REDACTED] stated that he is engaged in pure speculation, however, it is his view that the UNSUB in this matter is actually a Black man who could pass for a White man. [REDACTED] stated the 551st Airborne was an Army Airborne Unit that was founded during World War II comprised of all Black men. They were unable to fight in World War II, but at the end of the war in 1946 some of them were sent to the north west to help fight fires. It is his assumption that one of these men that were sent here was, in fact, UNSUB who was actually a Black man who could pass as a White. [REDACTED] speculates that this caused the man frustration at the fact that he was Black and that this reason led him to hijack the NORTHWEST ORIENT AIRLINES airplane. [REDACTED] stated that he had no firsthand information and did not have "the big picture" but it just seemed to him that this was a possibility.

In view of the above information, no investigation appears to be warranted and therefore no further investigation concerning this aspect of the case will be conducted.
