A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

Dear Sirs:

I am writing to your office regarding a possible suspect in the "D.B. Cooper" case of a few years before. I have given much thought to how much "Mr. Cooper" was alike in many respects to [REDACTED]. Although in my opinion, it is highly unlikely that he is the person sought, I nevertheless am furnishing the following information for your follow- through, and request that my name be left out of any resulting inves- tigations:

a. [REDACTED] X [guess: Sgt]

b. Army trained parachutist

c. Identical build to that of "D.B. Cooper" more or less

d. Habitually wore tinted glasses

e. [REDACTED] in Washington state, [REDACTED] Longview, Washington in [REDACTED]

f. Last known to be stationed within the Washington, D.C. area inso- far as known.

Yours very truly,

[REDACTED]
