A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Washington, D. C.

Gentlemen:

A number of weeks ago I called the Indianapolis office of the FBI and relayed the contents of the two inclosed news items to the lady who took my call. It seemed to me that an investifation of the bills found in Newfoundland would be in order, especially since the serial numbers of the Cooper ransom bills are known.

The lady who listened to my story thanked me nicely, hung up, and did'nt even ask my name. Since I was interested enough to call in the first place, I would certainly like to know what happened, if anything, especially if some reward is involved.

As a retired Federal analyst, I am very familiar with the way many Government agencies do not always answer their mail, unless of course some Congressional interest is being shown, but I will optimistically look forward to some sort of an answer anyway.

Yours truly
