What does the scan show?
A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

Dear [REDACTED]
---
Reference is made to your letter of January 13, 1972, which encloses a picture of James Wayne Wallace. The picture was shown to witnesses at Portland and Wallace was not recognized as the hijacker of the N. W. Orient Airlines aircraft on November 24, 1971.
Investigation disclosed that Wallace was employed by Thompson Metal Fabrication, 2054 N. Vancouver, Portland, in November, 1971, however, he was off work on November 24, 1971, recovering from injuries sustained from falling off a ladder. Since that time he was involved in a head-on collision and is now recovering from these injuries.
Thank you for bringing information regarding Wallace to our attention.
Very truly yours,
J. L. MATTSON Special Agent in Charge
